Sit and Down

Mickey and I have been practicing some tricks and we both quickly got bored of just Name Game and Sit.


They are too easy, especially with Mickey's disposition for sitting whenever he is still, it is hard to get him to stand up just to sit down again!


I decided to start adding in 'Down' to our bag of tricks. We started last night and can recall it this morning! I tried to practice outside, where there are a few more distractions but he just looked at me like I was a crazy person. Don't know if he wasn't understanding the cue, or if he just didn't want to lay down on the wet sidewalk (I don't really blame him) but either way, it was a failure. I guess our practice sessions will have to occur outside now to force him to perform in all environments. Now when he sees me holding a treat he'll run in front of me, sit down and lay down on the ground. It took some outtakes to get this video to demonstrate him doing the commands after I give the cue.



Also, I kept clicking the video on/off instead of the clicker, so I guess there is some train the trainer sessions still needed.
