Cruising
Human toddlers reach a phase in their development called 'cruising'. They can pull themselves up with the help of furniture such as low tables or ottomans and then walk along while holding onto these fixtures.
Our little one has picked up on cruising quite naturally...Mickey cruises the coffee table.
He hasn't learned how to jump up on things (yet) thank goodness. So his reach only extends as far as his neck and tongue will allow (as demonstrated in the above photo). We now put him in his kennel while we are eating because it will only be a matter of time before he puts good smells together with his cruising ability to get at our dinner. Until that point it is still super cute to watch him walk along the edge of the coffee table looking for anything fun within four inches of the edge.
